Abstract
TOLEDO F.º, Silvio Almeida; MORGANTE, João S. and JUAREZ, Edmundo. Variation on hemolymph proteins of Triatoma infestans. Rev. Saúde Pública [online]. 1969, vol.3, n.2, pp. 231-232. ISSN 0034-8910. http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0034-89101969000200013.
The hemolymph proteins of Triatoma infestans, that is a bloodsucking insect of medical importance, by means of electrophoresis in agar gel, was studied. The results show an intraspecific variation. Eight different electrophoretic patterns were detected in adults. It seems that the variations described were not reported before in the literature. This field of research has great significance for genetic and epidemiologic studies, as T. infestans is an important Chagas disease vector.
