This paper is an attempt to organize information produced in several meetings which dealt with teaching issues in Epidemiology recently in Brazil. The emphasis is given to specialization courses (diploma) and Post-graduate programs in Public Health. Furthermore, it shows the most relevant conclusions, proposals and blueprints of these meetings. As an example of Manpower training in Epidemiology, the experience of the Specialization Course in Epidemiology of the National School of Public Health is presented.
