This study is intended to demonstrate the increase in bodily injuries that are currently being observed in a public hospital in Rio de Janeiro. As director of an emergency ward, I have observed a steady change in the type of hospital care provided, a phenonmenon which I ascribe to the increase in criminality engulfing the community of Rio de Janeiro.
