Abstract

LANDSBERGIS, Paul. Long work hours, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Cad. Saúde Pública [online]. 2004, vol.20, n.6, pp. 1746-1748. ISSN 0102-311X.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S0102-311X2004000600035.

Several studies of myocardial infarction and two studies of blood pressure have shown associations with long work hours (greater than 55-60 hours per week). However, the number of studies of long work hours with cardiovascular outcomes is limited, and further research is needed to better understand the mechanisms and moderating factors.

Keywords : Work Hours; Hypertension; Occupational Health; Chronobiology.
