SOARES, Marisa da Silveira et al. Problems solving in health and environment: "post-normal science" and "extended peer community" in a small brazilian municipality. Ciênc. saúde coletiva [online]. 1998, vol.3, n.2, pp. 115-123. ISSN 1413-8123.  http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/S1413-81231998000200011.

This article reports the way in which we are evolving towards a solution for health and environmental problems in Guapimirim (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil). Our goal is being achieved trough an interdisciplinary study and through a partnership, which is gradually getting concepts and praxis proposed by contemporary theorists to deal with complexity, uncertainty and evaluation. The concepts of "post-normal science", "extended peer community" and "transdisciplinarity" were basic to our understanding of the scientific experience in course at the Municipality and to the proposals for its continuity.

Keywords : Post-normal Science; Extended Peer Community; Transdisciplinarity; an Experience's Report.
